Digit doesn't have a partner, so you two could have a go at it.

I still have no clue as to what better means in the terms of this challenge, it's not very explicit.

"better" just means (IMO) the one that the judges prefer. which is also not very explicit. If i were you, i'd take as much liberties as i wanted, and just focus on making what I want, whether it won or not.
